The nature crisis affects everyone, and we believe everyone should have a say in how we solve it. The People’s Plan for Nature is the UK’s biggest-ever conversation about the future of nature.

You've given us nearly 30,000 amazing ideas on what nature means to you and how to save it. You've also shared brilliant projects across the country that are helping nature. They were presented to the People’s Assembly for Nature participants in early November. The assembly participants will continue to meet until February 2023, and the final result will be a plan for action and change too big for anyone to ignore.

What nature means to you

You shared how nature has the incredible power to relieve stress and improve your mental health, an understanding that nature isn't just a resource - it's something we can't live without, and you told us how your connection to nature shapes who you are.

Your vision for the future

You wish to see a change in the way we produce things, a different approach to how we think about green spaces, better economic and policy outcomes for nature and more community-driven projects to enhance and protect nature.

What is the People’s Plan for Nature?
The biggest ever conversation about nature

The People’s Plan for Nature starts by seeing people from all walks of life sharing ideas for how we can make the UK’s nature something to be truly proud of.

Create a shared vision for nature in the UK

100 people from across the UK will be selected to take part in the People’s Assembly for Nature. They will develop a plan and a set of recommendations for change on behalf of the UK public.

Work together to save nature

When the People’s Plan for Nature is published, it will be too big for anyone to ignore. The plan will set out how the government, businesses, NGOs and communities can take action to protect and restore nature. Together, we can all play our part to save nature.

Why do we need the People's Plan for Nature?

The UK is home to some of the most incredible species on Earth – from puffins to orcas, beavers and butterflies. But they’re in trouble. Our actions are pushing nature to the brink, and we must act now to save it.

It will take fresh new thinking to solve the nature crisis. This is a big challenge and that’s why we all need to come together to share ideas and suggestions for the future of nature in the UK.

The People’s Plan for Nature is a UK-wide initiative powered by WWF, the National Trust and the RSPB. It is a unique, people-led collaboration to make our nature something we can all be proud of.

Everyone can take part in creating the People’s Plan for Nature.
